Lavinia Stamps Winter Forest Snow Storm Tag

I had a play with my Lavinia Stamps this evening making this forest snow scene tag, it makes me feel cold just looking at it!

I've used various shades of Versafine Clair inks:  Arctic, Bali Blue, Twilight, Morning Mist and Nocturne shades of ink. to stamp the following Lavinia Stamps:  Christmas Tree Group, Small Pine Trees, the large and small Red Pines and the Snowfall Verse.

I've used Dr PH Martin bleed proof white paint for the splatters to replicate the snow storm

Lavinia Stamps "Fairy Chain" Card

I've used another one of the backgrounds I made the other day using Amanda Branston's alcohol inks on gel plate technique to make this card.

Again, I have used a selection of Lavinia Stamps:  Fairy Chain (large), Red Pines (large and small), Forest So Green verse, Small Branch and Foliage Set.  I've also used the Lavinia Moon and Hill masks.

I've used five shades of Versafine Clair Inks:  Nocturne black, Morning Mist grey, Shady Lane green, Warm Breeze teal/turquoise and Purple Delight.

I've added extra colour to the picture using Van Goch Pastel Pencils, Posca Pens and assorted gel glitter pens.

Lavinia Stamps "Maka the wolf"" and the owl card

I don't usually make cards for other people.  I don't like the pressure it puts me under and there is obviously the fear of disappointment that I've not made what they wanted.

Last night I received a message asking if I could make a wolf card for a special occasion in a month.  I reluctantly agreed.  As I was up early this morning, I decided to make the card, so it was done and out of the way, instead of me spending time fretting about it.  This is the card I made.

I used a spray ink Dylusion spray ink background from my stash that I had made some months previously. I used my Van Goch Pastel Pencils to add a bit more colour to a few areas too.

I used Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink with an assortment of Lavinia Stamps, including "Maka the wolf", Woodland Fern, The Red Pines and Foliage Set. I also used Gel and Posca Pens for colour and highlights.

I used a sentiment from a Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny Words Encouragement" also stamped in "Nocturne" black ink.

Lavinia Stamps "Stag" in the mist card

I've been playing with my Lavinia Stamps again today, making this card featuring the very majestic looking stag.

I used two pieces of masking tape to protect the edges of the area I would be working on.  First I created the background using three shades of Distress Oxide Inks:  Weathered Wood, Bundled Sage and Speckled Egg.

I've used two shades of Versafine Clair (Nocturne and Morning Mist) for stamping the following Lavinia Stamps:  Stag, Foliage Set, Red Pine, Small Branch and Woodland Fern.

To create the misty look, I used a finger dabber with Hero Arts "Unicorn" white ink.

Lavinia Stamps "Stag in the moonlight" card

This morning, I received a small order from Lavinia Stamps, as I needed a few bits and bobs, which included the "Stag" stamp, which I thought I had, but could not locate.  I wasted no time in having a play session with the stamp making this card.

I've used a Brusho background from my stash as the base, adding areas of ink through the Lavinia Stamps "Posy Stencil".

I have stamped in various shades of Versafine Clair ink (Monarch, Nocturne and Acorn), using the following stamps:

  • Stag
  • Small Branch
  • Foliage Set
  • Woodland Fern
  • Red Pine
  • Small Fairy Fir
I also used Posca Pens, Gel Pens and Van Goch Pastel Pencils to highlight areas.

Lavinia Stamps "Dragon Stone Castle" in the mist card

I've made a mystical magical and misty scene using an assortments of Lavinia Stamps for this card.

For the background, I have used a Brusho background I had made a few weeks ago, as it was quite dark, it had been sat unused till inspiration struck on how to use it.

First, I masked off an area to create a large moo, lighting the circle using Pan Pastels and Van Goch Pastel Pencils. Using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink I stamped the "Dragon Stone Castle", the "Christmas Tree Group of trees" and the "Red Pine Trees".

For the mist area, I used a Hero Arts ink pad called "Unicorn".  Then using the "Foliage Set" I stamped the foreground area using "Shady Lane" and "Nocturne" Versafine Clair inks.  I added touches of colour and detail using Posca Pens and Gelly Pens.

Lavinia Stamps "Forest Inn" Tag

Today I received my order of the seven new Lavinia Stamps, so after I had listed them on my spreadsheet and filed them away in their correct sections, I pulled one out to use... it would have been rude not to!

For the background, I used a piece of card that I had used to mop up blue and pink inks from a previous project, and cut it into a tag shape.

I stamped the new "Forest Inn" (toadstool house) in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.  I then stamped it again on a post-it note and cut around the shape to make a mask, (after I have used the masks, I retain them for future use).

Laying the mask over the image on the tag, I created the landscape and then stamped the trees, using the "Red Pine" trees in first and second generation stamping using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.  Using the same ink, I stamped the "Path".  In the foreground I stamped the "Creeping Vine", the "Small Branch" and foliage.

I used Distress Oxide Inks and Van Goch Pastel Pencils to colour the scene, adding touches of gelly roll pen and Posca Pens too

Lavinia Stamps "Fox in the snow" Card

Here's another little card I've made today, using Lavinia Stamps.

While tidying my desk the other day, I came across a small secion of one of the Lavinia Scenescapes, so I decided to use it rather than bin it.

I used the standing fox from the Lavinia Stamps "Fox Set 1" stamped in three shades of Versafine Clair inks:  Tulip Red, Acorn and Fir Cone.  I created a mask of the fox and fixed over the image and then stamped the "Red Pine" trees in Versafine Clair "Rainforest" green ink.

Using "Weathered Wood" Distress Oxide Ink I grounded the fox and added extra depth of colour to the sky using "Seedless Preserve" Distress Oxide ink.

I used a white gel pen to add detail to the fur of the fox and then tapped a white Posca Pen over the surface to create snowflakes in the air.

Lavinia Stamps "Art is a story waiting to be told" forest scene card

Well two cards in one day isn't bad going.  This evening,  I have played with my Lavinia Stamps, which I've not used for a couple of weeks, to create this card.

I've used tones of blue for this card, using Distress Oxide inks for the background scene and stamping using Versfine Clair "Medieval Blue" ink to stamp the "Tree Group", "Story Sentiment and "Small Red Pine".  I've used the Lavinia Stamps "Feather Leaf Stencil" with "Tumbled Glass" Distress Oxide Inks to create the patterned sky area.

Lavinia Stamps "Red Pine" Night Scene

Today the weather over Anglesey, is a total contrast to that of yesterday.  I think the only way to describe today is "bleak", with high winds and rain hurtling on to the windows.  It just makes me feel miserable and I think that mood is reflected in the card I've just made.

I started off with a small square off-cut of black card, a fraction under four inches.

I used Brilliance ink in two shades, Platinum Planet and Moonlight White to create the moon.

I then multi stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Red Pine" trees, I used both the small and the large size, using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.  I then coated the stamping in Wow! Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.

I used the torn edge of a piece of paper with the "Moonlight White" Brilliance ink pad to create the snow scene in the foreground.  I used the same ink very lightly in the sky to create a cloudy look.

Finally, using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, I stamped the owl.  The owl is part of the Lavinia Stamps "Brodwin and Maylin" stamp set then coated in Wow! clear embossing powder and heat set the image.

Lavinia Stamps Red Pines and Reindeer Tag

A couple of days ago, I ordered the two new stamps from Lavinia Stamp, both of them are Red Pine Trees, in large and in small.  They arrived today, so I thought I'd better try them out.

I had an off cut of a cling wrap background, so decided that would be perfect for the base of my tag, although it can barely be seen with all the other ink I have added.

I started by masking off the moon area, using Distress Oxide Inks to create the sky and land areas.  I removed the mask and added some touches of yellow to the moon, then got down to stamping.  I stamped the new "Red Pine" Trees in two shades of Distress Oxide Ink and also some Versafine Clair inks.

I stamped the reindeer in Versafine Clair "Acorn" brown ink, and used three words from one of the sentiment stamps called "Spirit of Christmas".

I used a white and then a silver glitter Signo Pen for the ground detail.
