The Crafting Niche 52 Week Mini Art Card/Tag Challenge 2026:

This is a weekly challenge. I provide you with a prompt/theme each Sunday morning through out the year.  The challenge is very relaxed.  You can do as much or as little as you like.  You can create cards, tags, Artist Trading Cards (ATC's) or index cards, the choice is yours. You just go with what ever is in your head at the time.  You can stamp, get inky, use patterned papers, texture, embellish it is all down to you.

The prompt for Week 6 is "Woodgrain/ tree bark"

I painted a white tag with pale green/blue water colours for the base of the tag, then used Versafine Clair "Sand Dune" light brown ink to stamp the Funky Fossil Designs "Woodgrain" stamp".  I then repeated the proces in different areas using the same stamp but with "Acorn" mid brown Versafine Clair ink

In the gaps, I then stamped the Funky Fossil Designs "Vintage Script" stamp in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

Next, I lay the Funky Fossil Designs "Large Polka Dots Stencil" over the tag and applied "Avocado" green Versafine Clair ink through some of the dots.  I then stamped the Funky Fossil "Ferns" using "Fallen Leaves" dark brown ink.

I used Derwent Inktense pencils with a paint brush to add extra colour to the woodgrain/bark,  I used a gold pencil to outline some of the green circles and to edge the tag.  Finally, I added a Tim Holtz "Ideaology" word sticker saying "Explore".

Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge - Day 81

Today, is Day 81 of the Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay challenge.  This week is all about inks - my favourite!

For my piece, I have used the new Versafine Clair "Sand Dune" ink to stamp the Funky Fossil Designs  "Tree Rings" in the background.

I've then used Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink to stamp the Funky Fossil Designs "Ferns" and the sentiment.  I used the same ink for the edges of the card too.

Finally, adding some dots of Liquid Pearls in an "Avocado" shade.

Funky Fossil Designs "Tree Rings" Card

Another card from me today, I really am on a roll! I've used a selection of Funky Fossil goodies to make this card. 

Starting with the Funky Fossil "Tree Rings" stamp, I stamped it in second generation stamping using Versafine Clair "Pinecone" dark brown ink.

I then stamped the ferns using the Funky Fossil "Ferns" stamp set with Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.

I coloured the background, using two shades of Distress Oxide Inks:  Tatterered Rose and Antique Linen.

I used the Funky Fossil "Happy Words stamp set" for the sentiment, again stamped in "Shady Lane".

Finally, I added touches of metallic gold pen and splatters of a Posca Pen.

For this card, I've used "Bundled Sage" and "Tea Dye" Distress Oxide Ink through the Funky Fossil Designs "Large Polka Dot" stencil.

I've used the Funky Fossil "Ferns" and the "Small Print 2" sentiment stamp set, both stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.  Finally, adding splatters of "Vintage Photo" Distress Oxide ink over the surface.

Funky Fossil Designs "Ferns" Birthday Card

After a run of using Lavinia Stamps, today I used some products by Funky Fossil Designs to create this card.

For the background,I used the Funky Fossil "Fern" stamp set, stamped In second generation Versafine "Olympia Green" ink.

I then used the Funky Fossil "Micro Dots" stencil with "Bundled Sage" Distress Oxide Ink, then used Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink to stay the script using the Funky Fossil "A7 Vintage Script" stamp.

For the main central image, I again stamped the fern using "Olympia Green" ink then coated with "Wow! Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.  I then used "Bundled Sage" Distress Oxide Ink through the "Micro Dots" stencil.

I used a Lawn Fawn stamp for the sentiment, part of their "Simply Sentiments" stamp set.

Funky Fossil Designs "Ferns" new stamp set release day

Today, Funky Fossil Designs release lots of new goodies on their web site, including stamp sets, patterned paper, washi tape and dies too. 

I've opted for a clean and simple look for this sample using the new Fern stamp set.  Stamping the fern in Versafine Clair "Glamorour" ink.  I coated it in Wow! clear embossing powder and heat set.

I used the Funky Fossil "Burlap Texture" stencil for the background with "Picked Raspberry" Distress Oxide Ink.

Finally, for the sentiment I used a sentiment from the Funky Fossil "Small Print 2" stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Glamorous" pink ink.

This Friday, 18th June 2021, Funky Fossil Designs will be releasing a selection of fabulous new products, including stamps, patterned paper, dies and washi tape.

For this sample, I have used a background I'd created using sprinkled and spritzed Brusho granules. I then repeat stamped the ferns in alternate directions, using Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.  I then cut diagonally in half.

I used a sentiment from the Funky Fossil "Small Print" stamp set, which says "Follow your dreams, they know the way" in Wow! clear embossing ink and then sprinkled Wow! Rich gold embossing powder over and heat set.

Funky Fossil Designs "Ferns" New Stamp Set Preview 1

Funky Fossil Designs are launching lots of new goodies on their site this Friday, 18th June 2021.  Including patterned paper, stamps, dies and washi tapes.

For this sample, I have used the new Fern stamp set and the paper from the new "Neutrals" paper pack.

I started with a dark sheet of patterned paper with a design similar to a basket weave on it.  I multi stamped one of the ferns in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink and coated the images with Wow! clear embossing powder and heat set.

I used the Funky Fossil "Thank You" sentiment die cut as the main feature of the card.  Mounting the whole card on another piece of the "neutrals" patterned paper.

Funky Fossil Designs new "A7 Stamp Sets" preview 5

I've been busy making another sample using the fabulous Funky Fossil Designs new A7 stamp sets, which are ideal for backgrounds.  All six new Funky Fossil stamps will be available to purchase from tomorrow, Friday 4th June 2021. 

For this sample, I have used the new "A7 Woodgrain Stamp" for the background, created by stamping the image with Versafine Clair "Acorn and Pinecone" and then colouring with various shades of Distress Oxide Inks, applied with a brush (Tea dye, Rusty Hinge, Vintage Photo and Ground Espresso), I added some gold touches using a metallic gold pen too.

The sentiment is part of the Funky Fossil "Ferns" stamp set, which I have stamped in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink and then cut up into three sections.
