Tracy Evans Boutique Designs "Crocus TE31" Artist Trading Card

Here's my daily Artist Trading Card (ATC).  I've used a gel press background from my stash for the background.

I used Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink to stamp the crocus, which is part of the Tracy Evans Boutique Designs "Crocus TE31" stamp set.  I then used the Tracy Evans "Tiles SS37 Stencil" with "Pink Peony" Ranger Archival Ink. I grounded the crocus using the torn edge of copy paper and Versafine Clair "Morning MIst" grey ink.  I then used a circle maskto add a spotlight area and edged the circle in "Vibrant Fuschia" Ranger Archival Ink.

I edged the ATC in "Cactus Flower" Ranger Archival ink.  used touches of a white gel pen to the stencil and a white pastel pencil to lighten the spotlight and some of the grounding.  Finally, I added some dots of black Posca Pen

Funky Fossil Designs "Stencil Play" Artist Trading Card

This in my Artist Trading Card (ATC) for the day, using a selection of Funky Fossil goodies.

I have used a gel press background I'd made a long time ago.  I filed the edges to display the white core of the card and give the ATC a distressed look.

I used the Funky Fossil Designs "Alpha Numeric Stencil" with "Marmalady" Elements ink.  I then used the animal print section of the Funky Fossil "Animal Tiles Stencil" with Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.  I then circled the black ink using a gold coloured gel pen.

Next, I used one of the Funky Fossil Designs "Bird Silhouettes" with Versafine Clair 'Nocturne" black ink in the middle of the card.

I used a white pen to draw wavy vertical lines, then added gold dots across the card using a gold coloured gel pen.  Finally, I added a Funky Fossil Designs word sticker saying "Dream Big" from thier "Sentimental Sticker Stack".

Tracy Evans Boutique Designs "Create Your Own Story TE51" Flower and Boots Artist Trading Card

This is my Artist Trading Card (ATC) for the day. I've used a small gel press background I had in my stash for the base of this ATC.  Stamping the flower, boots and bird in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink. The boots and flower are part of the Tracy Evans Boutique Designs "Create Your Own Story TE51" stamp set and the bird is from her "A Promise Of Tomorrow TE63" stamp set

Following on from the technique I used yesterday, I used a 2B pencil and paper stub for the shading on the stamped areas, adding a touch of yellow Derwent Inktense pencil to the middle of the flowers.  I used Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink very lightly through the Tracy Evans Boutique Designs ""Distressed Background SS31" stencil to create the light coloured diamonds in the background.

Funky Fossil Designs "Bees Geometric" stamp set and "In The Groove" stecil Bee Card

I'm attempting to use up little bits of cards that I have saved for those "just in case" moments.  The background of this card is one of those.  It was made with Pan Pastels through the Funky Fossil Designs "In The Groove" stencil on the gel press.

Using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, I stamped the bee and the honeycomb.  Both of these are part of an old Funky Fossil Designs stamp set called :"Bees Geometric".  I used Posca Pen, a black fine liner pen and a gold gel pen to colour the bee image.

Tracy Evans "Quirky Birds TE10" Artist Trading Card

Rummaging through my file of prepared backgrounds, I found a piece of a gel press I'd made years ago.  The piece was just big enough for an Artist Trading Card (ATC), so I decided to use that for my base today.

I used Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink for the stamping.  Stamping the bird, part of the Tracy Evans Boutique Designs "Quirky Birds TE10" stamp set.  I then drew a circle round a lid in black pen and stamped the hearts and "tweet" sentiment also part of the same stamp set.

I used some black ink remaing on a blending brush with a torn edge of a piece of paper to create the grounding.  Then used a black and a pink Posca pen to add more dots around the bird and to colour in the hearts.

Funky Fossil - Adventure on a Panpastel gel plate background

Earlier in the month, I watched an on-line demo of a project using Pan Pastels through stencils on a gellie plate, by a fab lady called Eileen Godwin.

I decided to have a go and made some great backgrounds, using acrylic paint to lift the image.  For this project I have used the middle, more vibrant print.

I used several Funky Fossil stencils to create the background and teamed it with the Funky Fossil "Adventure" stamp set with Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink to make the finished card.

Funky Fossil - Butterfly Wishes (gelli plate background)

A few days ago, you may recall that I had a session making backgrounds using a gelli plate.  Today  have made one of the backgrounds into a finished item.

I used this background as the base for the finished card. I used the Funky Fossil "Forest Foliage", "Distressed Diamonds" and "Peony Panel" with Pan Pastels and acrylic paint to lift the image.

I started by stamping using Versafine Claire "Blue Belle" ink to stamp the whole butterfly and two sections of the butterfly on to the background.  I then stamped three butterflies on to plain white card.  Using the same ink, I stamped the "Butterfly Wishes" at the bottom right of the card.  The butterfly and the sentiment are both part of the Funky Fossil "Butterfly Wishes" stamp set.

Using the butterflies on the white background, I used "Carved Pumpkin" Distress Oxide Ink to blend the colour over the stamped image.  I then used Posca Pens to colour and then fussy cut the image and adhered onto the background.

I used a white and a dark blue Posca Pen to add splatters of colour across the piece.

Week 26 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019

We're at the half way point of the challenge.  It's down hill to week 52 from now on.

The prompt for Week 26 is "Leaves"

For my tag, I have created lots of layers, starting with using a gel press, using Colorbox Ink and Brusho.

I next stamped leaves using Versafine Clair Ink and a leaf stamp from "Oak House Studio".

The next layer was using Versafine Clair Ink and a script stamp, also from "Oak House Studio".

I then used a Stampin' Up thinlit die set called  "Beautiful Branches" to die cut the flower head and stem.  I layered the flower head in two shades of lilac/purple, stamping a script over the lighter shade using a Versafine Clair Ink called "Monarch".  Once the flower and stem were adhered to the tag, I added touches of Liquid Pearls in the shade of "Blackberry".

Finally, I used a Lavinia Stamp, mini leaf stamp from their "Pound Stamp range" to stamp the small leaves at the top and the bottom of the tag using Versafine Clair ink in the shade of "Shady Lane.  I used a Distress Ink in the shade of "Forest Moss" to edge the tag.

There is also a Facebook Group for this challenge, where members can upload thier makes to the weekly prompt albums and talk to others who are taking part.  This is a very relaxed challenge and we'd love you to join in.  The more the merrier.  Sam x

Creating Pretty Backgrounds (using Gel press and Brusho)

I realised yesterday, my stack of prepared backgrounds was getting low, so had a quick messy half an hour creating some pretty pastel coloured ones.

For these backgrounds I used a Gel Press, also known as a Gelli Plate. With Colorbox Inks brayered onto the plate and splashes of Brusho.

I really like what I've produced, however the cleaning up after my messy session wasn't so nice!
