Karen Telfer's "12 Days of Christmas Tags 2024" - Day 8

On the run up to each Christmas, I usually take part in Karen Telfer's Christmas Tag challenge.  Because we were living in the caravan and I didn't have my craft supplies, I wasn't able to take part in 2024.  Now my craft room is set up, I thought I had better get cracking on the tags.  For 2024, Karen was doing 12 tags rather than 24 as she had a busy work schedule.

This is my Day 8 Tag (You can watch Karen's tutorial here).

I have loosely followed Karen's tutorial for this tag, leaving out the small tags hanging from the top.

I have used "Saltwater Taffy" and "Weathered Wood" Distress Oxide Inks with the Tim Holtz / Stampers Anonymous THS084 "Mosaic" stencil.

In my stash, I had a couple of flower dies, which I'm not sure where they came from, but used them with white card and stuck on to the tag.

I used Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink to stamp the Simon Says Stamp "Tiny Words - Christmas" sentiment, then placed an arc of white dots using Ranger Enamel Accents.

Karen Telfer's "12 Days of Christmas Tags 2024" - Day 7

On the run up to each Christmas, I usually take part in Karen Telfer's Christmas Tag challenge.  Because we were living in the caravan and I didn't have my craft supplies, I wasn't able to take part in 2024.  Now my craft room is set up, I thought I had better get cracking on the tags.  For 2024, Karen was doing 12 tags rather than 24 as she had a busy work schedule.

This is my Day 7 Tag (You can watch Karen's tutorial here).

Formy tag, I have used several Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous stencils. These are the ones I have used: THMM178 - Christms Dots , THS164 - Pinecones, THS138 - Bubbles and THMM102 - Brickwork.

Through the stencils, I have used four shades of Distress Oxide Inks:  Twisted Citron, Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint and Forest Moss.

I used Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Ink to colour the edges of the tag. I hand cut various green banners from off cuts of cardstock in my stash.  Using Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink to stamp the seniments on the banners, which are part of the Simon Says Stamp "Tiny Words - Christmas" stamp set.

Karen Telfer's "12 Days of Christmas Tags 2024" - Day 5

On the run up to each Christmas, I usually take part in Karen Telfer's Christmas Tag challenge.  Because we were living in the caravan and I didn't have my craft supplies, I wasn't able to take part in 2024.  Now my craft room is set up, I thought I had better get cracking on the tags.  For 2024, Karen was doing 12 tags rather than 24 as she had a busy work schedule.

This is my Day 5 Tag (You can watch Karen's tutorial here).

I more or less followed Karen's tutorial for my tag.  I used "Lost Shadow" and "Weathered Wood" Distress Oxide Inks for the moon along with a Stamper's Anonymous "Layering Moon Mask".

For the colours around the moon I used:  Shaded Lilac, Dusty Concorde, Blue Print Sketch and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide Inks.

For the stamping, I used Versafine Clair inks to stamp the Lavinia "Small Fairy Fir Tree "stamp.  The colours I used for the trees were:  Morning Mist, Very Peri, Fantasia and Twilight.

I used water splatters from a fan shaped paint brush and Dr Ph. Martin's Bleed Proof White paint for the brighter white splatters.

I used Versafine Clair 'Nocturne" black ink to stamp the sentiment, which is part of a Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny Words".

Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge - Day 4

This is my Day 4 make of the Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge.  Today, I have stamped with spray inks.

I used the large snowflake stamp from the Visible Image "Let It Snow" stamp set for the central image.

Using my Misti, I spritzed the stamp with "Salvaged Patina" Distress Oxide Ink and stamped the snowflake.

I wiped down the Misti, keeping the stamp in the same position and then spritzed the stamp with "Mermaid Lagoon" Distress Oxide Spray Ink and stamped the snowflake over again. I repeated the process with "Twisted Citreon" Distress Oxide Spray Ink.

I found the whole spritzing on to the Misti a bit of a messy process and quite wasteful of ink, but you have to try different things don't you!

On a small scrap of white card, using Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink, I stamped the Simon Says Stamp "Season's Greetings" which is part of their "Tiny Words - Christmas" stamp set.  I trimmed the sentiment and added it to the centre of the snowflake.

I mounted the snowflake on to a piece of dark blue card and then on to a kraft card blank.  Finally, adding some clear gems and some dots of "Crystal" Stickles glue for sparkle.

Day 23 of Karen Telfer's "24 Days of Tags 2023" Challenge.

Well it has been a bit of a marathon, but I am now up to date with my tags, ready for the final one tomorrow.

The main image is part of a Woodware stamp called "Poinsettia Corner - JGS360", which I have heat embossed using Wow! Rich gold embossing powder on the tag, but also on two small pieces of card.

I used the same Wow! embossing powder to stamp and heat set the sentiment, which is part of the Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny Words - Christmas".

I coloured the stamped poinsettia images using Distress Oxide Inks, the colours I used are:  Peeled Paint and Rustic Wilderness for the leaves and Festive Berries and Candied Apple for the petals.

I fussy cut the two flowers on the small pieces of card.  I used foam pads on the underside of the petals and wet glue in the middle.  Once in postion I added some Ranger "Glossy Accents" to the very middle of the flower and dropped some tiny bronze coloured beads into it.

I mounted the card on to a piece of green card then coloured the berries using a red Posca Pen and a white gel pen for highlights.

Day 21 of Karen Telfer's "24 Days of Tags 2023" challenge

I'm still playing catch up with my tags after a few days away, but I am getting there! This is my Day 21 tag of Karen Telfer's "24 Days of Tags 2023" challenge.

I've used a plain white tag, covering the surface in "Antique Linen" Distress Oxide Ink and then edging the tag with "Festive Berries" Distress Oxide Ink.

I lay a Funky Fossil Designs stencil over the top of the tag, securing it in position with a piece of low tack tape.  I then used four shades of Ranger Archival Inks through the stencil.  The colours that I used are:  Watering Can, Plum, Library Green and Red Geranium.

At the base of the tag, I stamped the "Yuletide Greetings" sentiment, which is part of the Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny Words - Christmas".  Finally, I mounted the tag on to a piece of pinkish coloured card.

Penny Black "Sparkles 40-625" Heart Christmas Card

Another Christmas card, this time using a selection of products from different manufacturers.

For the hanging heart,  I have used one of the Penny Black baubles from their "Sparkles 40-625" slapstick/cling stamp set, stamped and coloured in "Festive Berries" Distress Oxide Ink.  I gave it some brush strokes of "A Wink of Stella" to give it a lovely gold shimmer to the surface.

I used "Shadow Grey" Ranger Archival Ink through the Sweet Poppy Stencils "Holly Backplate".

I mounted the card on to a piece of red card and then on to a white card blank, finally adding the  sentiment of "All I want for Christmas is you", which is part of a Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny Words - Christmas", stamped in Versfine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

Day 15 of Karen Telfer's "24 Days of Tags 2023" challenge

It's Day 15 of Karen Telfer's '24 Days of Tags 2023" challenge.  Today it's about heat embossing on black card.

For my tag, I have used a Christmas tree stamp from the Pink Ink Designs "Beary Christmas" stamp set.  The sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny words -  Christmas".  For  both stamps I used a Wow! clear ink pad to stamp the images and then coated with Wow! Rich Gold super fine embossing powder and heat set.

I coloured the baubles on the Christmas tree using red and orange glitter gel pens.

I used a metalic gold gel pen to add a wavy edge to the black tag and added gold snowflakes using the gel pen too.  I then mounted the tag on to a piece of red card.

Sweet Poppy Stencils "Small Bell" Christmas Card

More play with Sweet Poppy Stencils making this Christmas card.

I've used Versafine Clair "Chianti" dark red ink through the Sweet Poppy "Small Bell" stencil.

I then masked off the edges of the card, using low tack tape.

Next I used "Shadow Grey" Ranger Archival ink through the Sweet Poppy "Holly Back Plate" stencil, lightly adding ink around the edge of the masking tape, to give a subtle line of colour.  I then removed the masking tape.

Finally, I used Versafine Clair "Chianti" dark red ink again to stamp the sentiment, which is part of Simon Says Stamp "Tiny Words - Christmas" stamp set.  Then added some touches of gold gel pen to areas of the holly to give a lovely shimmer.

Day 13 of Karen Telfer's "24 Days of Tags 2023" challenge

This is my Day 13 tag make of Karen Telfer's "24 Days of Tags 2023" challenge.  It was a really quick make using strips of washi tape that had been lingering in my stash for years.

To add a little more interest, I used a Wow! Embossing Pad and Wow!  Bright White Embossing Powder to stamp and heat set the Simon Says Stamp sentiment, which is part of their "Tiny Words - Christmas" stamp set.

Day 12 of Karen Telfer's "24 Days of Tags 2023" challenge

This is my Day 12 tag of Karen Telfer's "24 Days of Tags 2023" challenge - the half way point.  As you may have notices, I am loving making these tags.

Water colour card was used for the base of this tag.  I used three shades of Distress Oxide Inks (Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch and Uncharted Mariner) on the Sweet Poppy "Large and Small Spruce" Stamp, then spritzed the stamp then stamped it on to the card.  I repeated the process three times for each tree, drying it with a heat gun each time.

Once dry, I went around the edge with "Shaded Lilac" Distress Oxide Ink, edging the tag in "Wilted Violet" Distress Oxide Ink.  I created the landscape/grounded the trees using the same ink.

I used "Prize Ribbon" Distress Oxide ink to add splatters to the surface of the tag.

Next I stamped the Simon Says Stamp sentiment, part of their "Tiny Words - Christmas" stamp set, using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

Finally I coloured some card with "Wilted Violet" Distress Oxide Ink and used a punch to make a hole reinforcer and stuck it into position before mounting the tag on co-ordinating card.

Monochrome Foil Tape "Stag" Christmas Card

I seem to be on a roll with my crafting today, here's a monochrome Christmas card using "Karen Warneka's / Oarsum Crafts" Tape a tag technique.

I used a Sizzix die from their thinlits set called "Woodland Deer".  I glued the die cut on to a piece of 4x4" mount board then covered it with sticky backed foil.

I smoothed out the surface then used a paper stump to determine the edges of the stag. I then used a small ball ended metal tool to go round the outline of the stag and make the vertical lines in the background.

I used a wide tipped black Sharpie pen to cover the entire square.  Once covered, I buffed the surface with a piece of kitchen roll, till the silver stag was exposed but leaving a very textural background.

Next, I mounted the piece on to a square of black card and then used sticky tape to adhere it to a white card blank.

I used Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink to stamp the Simon Says Stamp Christmas greeting, which is part of their "Tiny Words - Christmas" stamp set.

Sweet Poppy Stencils "Ivy Flourish" Christmas Card

My order of the new Christmas "Botanicals" stamps arrived from Sweet Poppy Stencils, so I wasted no time in trying one of the new stamps out.

I used Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink to stamp the "Ivy Flourish" stamp, colouring it with four shades of Derwent Inktense pencils, applied with a brush.  I used Lime Green, Spring Green, Light Olive and Leaf green.  I then created a slight shadow for the lower leaves by going around the bottom edges of the leaves with a 2B pencil.  I then used a metallic gold gel pen for the veins of the leaves.

I lay the Sweet Poppy "Grid Plate" over the top.  Using a blending brush with "Old Paper" Distress Ink I created a quiet background for the ivy.

I didn't have any suitable Sweet Poppy sentiments, so I used one from a Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny Words - Christmas", stamped in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.

Lavinia Stamps "Robin in the snow" Christmas Tag

Covid is still taking it's toll on me, the coughing hasn't eased at all, so I made a tag to distract me.

For the background, I started blending three Distress Oxide Inks, starting with "Tumbled Glass" then at the top to just over half way down I used "Blueprint Sketch" then finally at the top third, I used "Prize Ribbon".  Blend until the joins between the colours are seamless.

Using Versafine Clair "Acorn" brown ink, I stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Fern Branch" in first and second generation stamping.

Using a fan paint brush and water, I splattered water droplets over the top half of the tag, blotting the surplus off with a kitchen roll.

I used Dr. Ph. Martin's white bleed proof ink and a really fine paint brush to add snow to the branches.

I then stamped the bird, which is part of the Lavinia Stamps "Bird Collection".  I stamped in second generation stamping, again using "Acorn" brown ink.  I then added extra colour to the bird using Derwent Inktense water colour pencils.

I then moved on to the Lavinia Stamps "Small Lanterns" which I stamped in Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink.

Using a white Posca Pen, i coloured the area within the lantern between the candle and the glass.  Once dry, I used a yellow and orange Posca Pen to add colour.  (By using the white Posca pen first, means that the colour doesn't distort).  I then used Pastel Pencils in white and a very light yellow to add light rays from the lantern.

I used a Simon Says Stamp sentiment from their "Tiny Words - Christmas" stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink.  While the ink was out, I inked up the edges of the tag.

Finally, using a white gel pen, I added a few snowflakes to the area around the branches.

Stampers Anonymous "Pressed Foliage CMS376" Christmas Card

I've continued to play with the Stampers Anonymous "Pressed Foliage CMS376" cling stamp making this embossed Christmas card.

I used a dark navy blue card, dusted the surface with an antistatic bag then used Wow! Clear Embossing Ink to stamp the leaf, which is part of the Stampers Anonymous "Pressed Foliage CMS376" cling stamp set.  When I was sure all areas were inked, I coated the card with Wow! Super Fine Metallic Silver embossing powder and heat set. I then mounted the square of card on a piece of white card.

Using a larger piece of white card, I put it between the Sizzix/Stampin' Up "Softly Falling" embossing folder and ran it through the Sizzix Big Shot.

I then layered the stamped image on to the dry embossed surface and mounted it on to a navy blue card blank.

Finally, using Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink, I stamped the Simon Says Stamp sentiment, "Gladd Tidings Of Great Joy", which is part of their "Tiny Words - Christmas" stamp set.

Day 3 of "24 Days of Tags 2022" with Karen Telfer

How December is starting to fly!

After making the third tag of Karen Telfer's "24 Days of Tags 2022" challenge, I decided to put the Christmas tree up.  This tree is usually in the craft room, we deliberately chose one that didn't have to wide a base, so that it took less space, but as the three Grand Children will be here for the first Christmas with us, I decided to put it in the lounge, so they have plenty of carpet area to play with their new toys.

I've not managed to decorate the rest of the house yet.  I'll leave that excitement for another day!

Anyway, returning to the tag.  Tag three is about using patterned paper on kraft card.  Here's is Karen's demo if you would like to take part.

I more or less followed Karen's instructions.  It was nice to use some of my patterned paper as it seems ages since I delved in to that drawer and used some.

I have an old picnic hamper that holds my Funky Fossil MDF shapes, so I had a rummage in there finding some stars and a stag, so decided to use them.

Using Versafine Clair "Chianti" dark red ink, I stamped the "T'is the Season" sentiment, which is part of a Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny Words - Christmas".  You may notice I like using these small sentiments on my cards and tags.  I want it to speak but not shout... if you know what I mean.

Right, I need to go and hoover all the glittery bits on the carpet and tidy up a little.  I'll catch you for tag four tomorrow.

Lavinia Stamps "Mistletoe" Christmas Card

I've made another quick Christmas card this afternoon, using a Lavinia stamp and stencil.

For the central area, I used a stitched edge die cut square and stamped the Lavina Stamps "Mistletoe" on to it using Versafine Clair "Rain Forest" ink.  I used the same ink to stamp the small sentiment, which is part of the Simon Says Stamps "Tiny Words - Christmas" stamp set.

I then used two shades of Distress Oxide inks (Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness) through the Lavinia Stamps "Feather Leaf stencil".

I then matted and layered the pieces on to a card blank.

Lavinia Stamps "Winter Scene" using Elements Inks and a "Whimsical Hare"

This afternoon, I played with my Lavinia Stamps and inks creating this card.

I used four shades of Lavinia Elements Inks (Sundance, Russet Orange, Emperor Red and Merlot) to create the dramatic sky colour.  For the snow area, I used Van Goch Pastel Pencils in  pink, orange and black colours.

I stamped the "Birch Tree", the "Small Trees", the "Small Pixie Houses" and one of the "Whimsical Hares" in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

I added touches of yellow Posca Pen to the windows of the houses and a white gel pen to add snow to the branches of the trees and also to create the stars.

The "Just for you" sentiment is part of a Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny Words - Christmas".

Card-io Majestix "Hares" Christmas Card

Recently, I have seen so many posts menitoning the "C" Word - "Christmas"!  Which made me want to make a card. I have used three Card-io Majextix clear stamp sets to create this card, using the large tree from "Peaceful Place", the trees in the backgroud from the "Mini Tall Trees" set and the hares from the "Field Day" stamp set, all stamped in Versafine Clair Inks.

For the background, I used three shades of Archival Inks:  Cobalt, Blue Bird and Shadow Grey.

The sentiment, is part of a Simon Says Stamp Set called "Tiny Words - Christmas".
