Sweet Poppy Stencils "Blissful" on a Pan Pastel background

Up early this morning as I couldn't sleep, so had a play with Sweet Poppy Stencils making this card.

I found a gel plate background in my stash that I had made months ago, using Pan Pastels.  I thought it had quite a rustic look to it, so I paired it with the Sweet Poppy Stencil called "Blissful" using Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze' Ink to give it a more folk art look.

Around the edge of the card, I used another Sweet Poppy Stencil called "Grid Plate" with the same ink.

I added splatters of white and black Posca Pens and then highlighted areas using a gold gel pen.

Lavinia Stamps "Zelith" on a gell plate background

I'm continuing my play with the lovely new Lavinia Stamps that arrived this week.  I have to say they are all absolutely stunning.  The detail in the stamps is amazing.

I had a look in my folder of preprepared backgrounds and found a 6" gel plate circle that I'd made a while back.  It was greens and greys and to be honest a bit dull, which was why it was still in my folder.  I decided to use it regardless.

I popped a piece of copy paper over the background and drew the circle, then cut the middle area out so that I could colour the central image without getting inky finger marks all over the surrounding white area.

I used a selection of pinks, greens and blue Distress Oxide Inks to liven the background up a bit.

I then stamped the beautiful "Zelith" in position using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" ink, I used the same ink for the "Mini Sea Urchin",  I deliberately had her tail hanging over the edge of the circle to add a little more interest.

I then used a fan brush and water to splatter droplets in the areas I wanted them, (behind her body), I then mopped them up with a piece of kitchen roll which reveals a lovely air bubbly look.

I used two Distress Oxide Inks, Spun Sugar and Faded Jeans to colour in the body area of Zelith.  I then used a white Signo pen and a silver glitter Signo pen to add highlights to the hair, tail etc.

I moved on to the lower section of the circle and decided to create a landscape, using the edge of a torn piece of copy paper.

I multi stamped the hair of "Astrid", in Versafine Clair Verdant and Shady Lane ink, to create the impression of reeds waving in the water.

I then stamped the "Marine Kelp" and the "Sea Algae" in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.

Forget Me Not "You Were Meant To Fly" Card

As the stamp set was out on my desk, I have continued my play with "The Forget Me Not Kraft Kabin" Bee Happy Stamp set making this second card.

This is the "Bee Happy" Stamp set.

I used an off cut of a previous gelli plate project for the background colours (I think I used Distress Inks).  I stamped the frame, the bee and the sentiment in Versafine Clair "Fantasia" shade of ink.

The small flower is from a Papertrey Ink Set of stamps.
