Day 9 of "24 Days of Tags 2021" challenge with Karen Telfer

It's Day 9 of the "24 Days of tags 2021" challenge with Karen Telfer.  Today we use embossing folders. I've made two different tags.

For the first, I have used a Crafters Companion embossing folder called "Scandinavian Xmas", which I then covered in "Festive Berries" Distress Oxide ink.  I then used a small Cuttlebug embossing folder for the central image which I die cut into a circle and then layered on top of a disc of Funky Foam to create a 3D look to the tag.

For the second tag, I used another Crafters Companion embossing folder, with Cosmic Shimmer gilding wax over the higher elements.  I then used a Clarity stamp word sticker.

Week 35 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019 (Crafty Individuals CI-265)

The challenge prompt for Week 35 is "Birds".

For my tag, I started off with a gelli plate background I had prepared a few weeks ago, using Colorbox Inks brayered on to the gelli plate and then sprinkled with wet Brusho, which creates the mottled look.

Using a Crafter's Companion script stamp I stamped across the tag using Versafine "Smokey Gray" coloured ink.

On a separate piece of card in the same gelli-plate colours I stamped the Crafty Individuals CI-265 in Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" shade of ink.  I then cut the stamped image into three.  Using the same ink, I stamped the ferns, which are part of a Crafty Individuals set (CI-207).

The mini dragonflies are from the same set, but I stamped them in Versafine Clair "Twilight".  I also inked the edges of the tag in "Twilight" and the edges of the stamped bird images too.

I mixed some Distress Oxide ink (Brushed Corduroy and Wild Honey) with some water, then added some Brusho SprinkleIT.  I mixed them together, then using a fan brush splattered across the tag.  This gives a subtle coloured sparkly look.

Using double sided sticky tape, I adhered the bird sections onto the tag.  I gave the birds some additional colour by painting Distress Oxide in shades of "Brushed Corduroy", adding white around the eyes and highlight areas using a white Signo pen.

Design Team make for "My Time To Craft Challenge Blog" #400 "Seaside"

It's time for another challenge on the "My Time To Craft Challenge Blog" which has a theme of "Seaside" for challenge #400.

If you have a moment, please do pop across to the blog to see the other fab makes by my fellow Design Team members.

I decided to do something a bit different for this make by using lots of little bits and bobs I had floating around my work desk.

I had a piece of stamped card with a woodgrain effect, which I had given a grey wash to make it look like weathered wood, so decided to use that as a base.

I knew the colours that I wanted for the sea, so used Distress Oxide Inks in the shades of:  Twisted Citron, Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky, Broken China and Salty Ocean and roughly applied it to card, filling the white areas using a paint brush.

Once it was dry, I ran it through a Crafters Companion embossing folder which gave a nice wave look texture.  I ran a clear embossing ink pad across the surface then covered with a white/silver embossing glitter so that the raised areas sparkle like the sun catching the raised waves, then heat set.

In my embellishment stash, I found a balsa wood sentiment saying "Sun, Shells & Sand" so decided to colour the sea weed and star fish using my Arteza brush pens and then added some Stickles glitter glue to give it a bit of sparkle.

I tore a piece of cardboard box to add a colour and texture like wet sand.

Finally, I assembled all the components and added little pearl like beads to the sand and small shells,  I also added a handful of clear sequins to the card to give added sparkle.

Rudolf Christmas Card

I made my last Christmas card today, making this rudolf card.

I embossed a piece of white card, using the Crafters Companion "Scandinavian Christmas" embossing folder.  I die cut the rudolf face (the die came free with a magazine last year, I don't recall which mag though) and stuck it to the embossed background.  I added a large red sticky peal for the nose and googly eyes.

I stamped the Woodware sentiment in Versafine Clair "Tulip Red" ink.

Week 20 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2018

I feel a bit at sea this week as my laptop is in for repair and I’m posting this on my phone. It feels very strange.

The prompt for Week 20 is “Butterflies”

I started my tag with a piece of pale pink card. I used Distress Inks through a hydrangea stencil I had from a magazine a while back.

I then added more detail to the flowers by using Promarkers and a Signo pen to fill in the area of the flower head. I also inked the background in green Distress Inks.

I used an Oak House Studio text stamp and a Crafters Companion stamp from their “Flutterby” collection for the sentiment.

I found an off cut of paper coloured with alcohol Inks, so I used two dues to cut the butterfly shapes. A Papertrey Ink die from their “Love Lives Here” set and a Stampin’ Up due from their “Butterflies Thinlits” set.  I backed the large butterfly die cut with velum.
