Lavinia Stamps "Shadow Bloom" hope card

 

I made this card for a friend who is quite poorly at present. Starting with the Lavinia Stamps "Shadow Bloom" stamp, I stamped the image using Versafine Clair "Medieval Blue" ink.  I then coated the stamped image in Wow! Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.

I used "Sky Blue" Ranger Archival Ink through the Lavinia Stamps "Waffle Stencil" around the stamped image, fading the colour out towards the top and bottom.

Using Versafine Clair "Medieval Blue" ink again, I added some foliage to the flower using one of the leaves from the Lavinia "Vine Set".  I used the same ink to stamp the word "Hope" which is part of the Lavinia "Blessings" word set.

Next, I used a paint brush to colour the flowers using "Spun Sugar" Distress Oxide Inks.  I added dots of yellow Posca Pen to the middle of the flowers, finally adding some dots of "White Opal" Liquid Pearls to the stencillled area.

Lavinia Stamps "Mystic Swirl" Vine Card using Sizzix Stamp and Spin Tool

About a year ago, I bought the Sizzix Stamp and Spin tool, however, because we were moving house, it got packed away and has not been used till today.  It was winking at me from the shelf.  So as I didn't have a project on my desk, I decided today was the day to try the tool out.

I was a little nervous at first, but soon got the hang of it, thanks to You Tube.  I couldn't grasp the instructions that came with the set - I guess now I'm getting older a visual demonstration is easier for me to grasp!

I used two shades of Versafine Clair inks.  I used Avocado green for the foliage and Lilac Bloom for the flowers and sentiment.  The Lavinia Stamps I used are Mystic Swirl, Vine Set, Mini Flutter and Mini Dots.

The central sentiment is by Hobby Art Stamps and is part of their "Greetings for friends - CS158D" stamp set.  I also used a yellow Posca Pen and a white gel pen for extra detail.

Lavinia Stamps "Swing Bed" and the hares

I seem to be on a roll, my third card for the day.  I'm amazed considering how I was feeling about crafting earlier on this morning.This card is made using a selection of inks and Lavinia stamps.

Starting with the Lavinia "Swing Bed" stamped in Versafine Clair "Spruce" green ink, I then added colour within the swing bed area using the remains of "Paradise Teal" Ranger Archival Ink on my blending brush.  I then created the green landscape using "Leaf Green" Archival Ink with a Lavinia Stamps "Hill Mask".

Around the "Swing Bed" I used "Majestic Violet" and Cobalt" Ranger Archival Ink, using the darker shade around the edges of the card.  I then inked the edges with Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink.  I used the Lavinia Stamps "Background Script" stamp with Versafine Clair "Monarch" purple ink to get the slight impression of text, filling the blank areas.

I then used Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink to stamp the black flowers and leaves, which are Lavinia Stamps "Vine Set" and "Mini Lucky Clover" stamps.  I then stamped the two hares in the same ink, which are part of the "Wild Hare Set" of stamps.

Finally, I used a white gel pen for highlights and various coloured Posca pens to add flowers.

Lavinia Stamps "Forest Flower" Card

So from going with really soft colours with the Clarity card I made last night, this morning I have gone for vibrant.

I started by creating the base, using three shades of Lavinia Element's Inks:  Lime Punch, Blue Atoll and Della Blue applied with a very wet mop brush so that the colours mingled.

Once dry, I then lay the Lavinia "Dynamic" stencil over the top and added "Lime Punch" and "Della Blue" Elements Inks through areas of the stencil.

I then moved on to the stamping, starting with Versafine Clair "Twilight" to stamp the new Lavinia Stamps "Forest Flowers".

I then used Versafine Clair "Verdant" and "Warm Breeze" to stamp the ferns, using the Lavinia "Fern Heads" stamps.

Using a couple of Lavinia Stamps "Hill Masks" I created the landscape using Versafine Clair "Blue Belle" and "Twilight".

I then added some foliage to the base of flowers using Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink with the new "Vine Set" and the older "Foliage Set".

I then inked the edges of the card using Verafine Clair "Fantasia" to give it a purple look.

I then moved on to the finishing touches, using Posca Pens and gel pens to colour the "Forest Flowers" and to add colour to the foliage at the base.  I used a white and a silver glitter gel pen to add highlights to areas too.
