Day 19 of Karen Telfer's "24 Days of Tags 2023" challenge.

I'm playing catch up on my tags again as I was away at the weekend attending a course.  I'll share with you what I was up to in my next post.

This is my Day 19 tag of "Karen Telfer's 24 Days of Tags 2023" challenge.

For my tag, I used two Lavinia Stamps the "Mystic Swirl" and "Christmas Charms", stamped in Wow! clear embossing ink, coated in Wow! Rich Gold Embossing Powder and then heat set.

I then created the background colour using two shades of Distress Oxide Inks:  "Twisted Citron" and "Lucky Clover".  I deliberately kept the darker ink away from the hanging star, to give the impression that the star is shining light. I rubbed over the heat embossing with a cloth to remove any ink that was over it.

Next, I used a fan shaped paint brush, dipped in water and tapping the brush over the surface of the tag, creating tiny droplets, I then blotted the water, which left a lovely bleached splattered look.

I used the same technique with metalic gold paint to add tiny gold flecks across the surface of the tag.

Finally, I mounted the tag on to a piece of red card and outlined the inner tag with a metalic gold pen.

Lavinia Stamps "Winter Whispers" Eve Card

Today, I was fortunate to be passing reasonably closely to the Lavinia Stamps shop, so asked Hubby to make a detour via Ruthin, so that I could purchase the new "Winter Whispers" stamp release.

I've not been to the shop since it's opening day, four years ago, which I attended as part of the Lavinia Stamps Design Team, so it was nice to get back there and see all their lovely goodies.  I was greeted by the super helpful Jack on the counter and then had a jangle with Sarah Anderson and Jo Rice, who were both on the Design Team at the same time as myself.

I knew I was purchasing the new "Winter Whispers" stamp bundle, but there were some other bits and bobs that I needed too.  You can see my goodies in the photo above - it was quite a haul!

Obviously, as soon as I got home, I catalogued and repackaged the stamps how I like them and then got busy making a card!

I started by using Distress Oxide Inks:  Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold, Shabby Shutters and Faded Jeans.

I used two Lavinia Stamps stencils:  Filigree and Flower Mask".

I used two of the brand new Lavinia Stamps, using the new fairy called "Eve" stamped in Verafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink and the new "Forest Leaf" stamped in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane green ink.

I used Wow! Embossing pad and Rich Gold Embossing Powder with the Lavinia "Mystic Swirls" stamp and the "Star Cluster" stamp.

I coloured the card using Derwent Inktense pencils, Posca Pens and gel pens, also adding more sparkle and shimmer using "A Wink of Stella" too.

Lavinia Stamps "Everlee on the swing bed" tag

More early morning play, this time a tag using Lavinia Stamps.

I used a manila coloured tag for the base, adding "Saltwater Taffy" and "Weathered Wood" Distress Oxide Inks, layering the colours, then drying then laying more colour on top, to get some depth.

Once dry, I used Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink to stamp the Lavinia Stamps "Medium Swing Bed".  I used the same ink to stamp the "Mystic Swirls" and also to ink the edges of the tag.

Next, I used Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink to stamp the Lavinia "Star Cluster" around the swing bed.  I was then able to stamp the fairy "Everlee" using Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink.

I added touches of silver glitter pen, gold shimmer pen and finally dots of "White Opal" Ranger Liquid Pearls to areas of the swirls.

Lavinia Stamps "Celeste" Fairy Card

You may have noticed, I have not shared many cards or makes this past month.  I had totally lost my crafting mojo and couldn't bring myself to even consider crafting.  I find it odd that I should feel like this as crafting is what I do!  Thank goodness I had an urge to dust off my Lavinia Stamps and create this card.

The background was inspired by a technique created by the super talented Eileen Godwin using (Squeezed Lemonade and Abandoned Coral) Distress Oxide Inks.  I then used "Picked Raspberry" Distress Oxide ink through the Lavinia "Laurel" Stencil.

I moved on to the stamping, first stamping the script, which is a Lavinia Stamp called "See a fairy, make a wish", stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.  I then used Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink to stamp "Celeste" the fairy and the "Mystic Swirls" to each side of the fairy.
