Honey Doo Crafts "Lilies" Get Well Soon Card

I've been sorting through some of my stamps, with a view to selling some of the ones I rarely use these days and came across one stamp set that I felt the urge to use, so made this card.

I started with the base using three shades of Archival Inks (Chrome Yellow, Sunflower and Orange Blossom), through the "Abstract Flowers Stencil" by Funky Fossil Designs.

Using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink I stamped the Lily (part of the Lilies stamp set) by Honey Doo Crafts.  While the ink was out, I also stamped the "Get Well Soon" greeting which is part of the "Stripped Back Sentiments" stamp set by Funky Fossil Designs.

I used two shades of Derwent Inktense pencils, applied with a brush to colour the liy.  I then used a gold shimmer gel pen over the surface for extra interest.

Finally, I added three dots of black Ranger "Enamel Accents" for added dimension.

Funky Fossil New Stamp Set "Birdsong" Preview 4

Here's another sample I have made using the fabulous new clear stamp set from Funky Fossil Designs called "Birdsong".

For the background of this card, I have used the Funky Fossil "Abstract Flowers" stencil with three shades of Distress Oxide inks:  Carved Pumpkin, Festive Berries and Mustard Seed.

I stamped the two bird images on to white card and then coloured them in using Distress Oxide inks, applied with a brush.  I then cut out the bird shapes and adhered on to the prepared background.  Finally, I used some gold Stickles to add a bit of sparkle to the central areas of the flowers.

Funky Fossil Designs - Hochanda TV April 2020 - Set 3 #1

Sarah of Funky Fossil Designs will be on Hochanda TV on 4th April at 1pm with a selection of lovely goodies.  This is a card I have made for the show.

I've used the Funky Fossil "Abstract Beauty" clear stamp set for this card.  Stamping the face, then the flowers, the butterfly over the eyes and the one by the flowers, all stamped in Versafine ink.

I used a selection of Distress Oxide Inks to colour the image, using a gold glitter Sakura Gelly Roll pen o the butterflies.

I added the  "Brave Beauty" words using "Wilted Violet" Distress Oxide Inks through the Funky Fossil "Fierce Words" stencil.  Using the same ink, I added the butterflies through the Funky Fossil "Butterfly Flurry" stencil.

Funky Fossil Heat Embossed "Abstract Flowers" stencil image

I seem to be in embossing mode.  Today I created a card using a section of a Funky Fossil Designs Stencil and heat embossed the image.  A simple technique but a strong image all the same.

I started with a plain piece of white card.  I used a blending tool and an assortment of Distress Oxide Ink shades (Antique Linen, Wild Honey, Worn Lipstick and Ripe Persimmon) to create the mottled coloured background.  I made quite a large background and have only used half for this card, so I have a background prepared for a future project now.

I lay the Funky Fossil Designs "Abstract Flowers" stencil over the prepared background and masked off an 2 1/2" square area using low tack masking tape.

Using a finger dabber and the Wow! Embossing Pad, I applied the clear ink through the stencil.  I removed the stencil and shook Cosmic Shimmer, thick embossing crystals in the shade of "Blue Raspberry" over the wet patterned area.

I used my heat gun, directed to the underside of the design as I wanted a smooth-ish finish (sometimes if you heat from the top it can have an orange peel texture).  The end result was a rather glossy tile, which I decided would be the main feature of the card.

Funky Fossil "Abstract Flowers" stencilled card

One of the things I love about using stencils is that before I put them away, I clean them with a wet wipe over a piece of card.  The colour wiped from the stencil fills the gaps in the stencil, which in turn gives a lovely subtle pattern.  This is how I achieved the coloured background of this card.

Cleaning the Funky Fossil "Abstract Flowers" stencil after using it for this card, provided a beautiful coral shade of flowers.

I outlined the coloured sections using a gold shimmer Sakura Jelly Roll Pen.

The "To A Special Friend" sentiment is from a Hobby Art Ltd called "Greetings From Friends - CS158D" which I stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink.

Butterfly Wishes (Funky Fossil stamp and stencil)

This afternoon, I have been playing with stamps and stencils from "Funky Fossil Designs".  Using their "Abstract Flowers" stencil and the "Butterfly Wishes" stamp set.

I started by covering a piece of white card with a "Mustard Seed" shade of Distress Oxide ink.  I then used "Abandoned Coral" Distress oxide through the "Abstract Flowers" stencil, which was secured with low tack masking tape.  I used "Candied Apple" Distress Oxide for the middle of the flowers.

I decided where I wanted the butterfly and the sentiment to be and stamped them onto the stencilled background using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink.

Using the same black ink, I stamped the butterfly image again, but this time onto an off-cut of white card.  I coloured the stamped image using a Sakura Gelly Roll pens in a soft shimmery gold colour and a bonze colour for the body.  I then used an Arteza brush pen in a shade of green to add some colour to the wings.

I cut out the butterfly into three sections, the wings and the body.  I went around the cut edges with a black pen, then adhered the pieces over the samped image on the stencilled background.  (This means that I didn't have to cut out the intricate thin lines of the feelers, just the main three pieces).

Funky Fossil "Abstract Flowers" Stencil Card

I love the "Funky Fossils" stencil designs and now have quite a few.  This one called "Abstract Flowers" and is one of my recent purchases.

I used Arteza Brush Pens to colour in the stencil.  The sentiment is from a Spellbinders set (Ref:  STP-004) and is stamped in Versafine Clair "Fantasia" shade of ink.
