Funky Fossil Designs New Stamp Preview - Find Your Rainbow

Funky Fossil Designs are releasing five fabulous new stamp sets this Saturday, 27th June at 9am.  Funky Fossil will also be on Hochanda TV the same day at 3pm.

This is a card that I have made using the new "Find Your Rainbow" clear stamp set.  For this card, I had the Covid19 pandemic key workers in mind.  I stamped the rainbow using various shades of Versafine Clair inks.

I used the Funky Fossil "Fierce" word stencil for the word "Brave" coloured with "Wilted Violet" Distress Oxide Ink.

I used Distress Oxide Ink "Mustard Seed" ink through the stars in the Funky Fossil "Rainbow Words" stencil.  I then coloured the edges of the card in the same ink.

Finally, using Versafine Clair "Glamorous" ink I stamped the words, which are part of another Funky Fossil Designs new stamp set called "Small Print".

Hero Art "Galaxy of Stars" and Woodware "Mini Flowers" Tag

At the end of each project I make, I like to clear my work desk for the next project.  Somehow, I had ended up with a pile of odds and ends from previous projects, so I decided they needed to be sorted.  Instead of putting them all away, I kept some out and decided to make a tag.

I had an off-cut of a Dylusions Spray Ink, just the right size for a tag base.  I used a Hero Arts stamp set called "Galaxy of Stars CL318" which I randomly stamped in shades of blue across the tag base.  

I found some die cut stamped flowers (Woodware "Mini Flowers JGS341") on green card which I adhered onto the tag.  I found a small bag of die cut stars, so stuck some of those on to the tag too, then found a die cut "Shine" sentiment, which I think was cut using a Stampin' Up die.

The tag was coming together, but I thought the flowers were too dark, so I added a white border and spiral centre, I also added some white dots to the background, all with a white Posca Pen.  I also added some red dots to the background using a Posca Pen too.

Brusho Wax Resist and Carabelle Studio Skittle Tag

Earlier in the week, I watched a Facebook tutorial by the talented Eileen Godwin, where she used a was resist crayon.  I decided to have a go.

I started by using the wax crayon to draw random lines at intervals in two directions.  I then used four shades of Distress Oxide Inks:  Squeezed Lemonade, Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers and Picked Raspberry.  I then topped it off with a touch of "Spiced Marmalade" Distress Ink.

I stamped the Carabelle Studio "Skittle SA60500" in Versafine Onyx Black ink.  Next I stamped the circles, which is a Carabell Studio stamp called "Lovely Circles SA70171" in Versafine "Smokey Gray" ink.

I added the sentiment, which is from the Stampers Anonymous "Tiny Text CMS394" in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.  I used the same ink to edge the tag.  Finally, I coloured the skittle with Posca Pens.

Stampers Anonymous Travelling Companion Tag

This is a tag I started a couple of weeks ago, it then got put away and forgotten about.  I came across it this morning and thought I'd finish it.

I created a background using an assortment of Distress Oxide inks. I then used the Stampers Anonymous "Rays" stencil with `'Evergreen Bough" Distress Oxide ink.

I used the Stampers Anonymous "Haberdashery CMS105" stamp set for the dress makers form/dummy.

I used the Andy Skinner "Tornado" stencil with a shade of red distress oxide ink. I then stamped the wing and the scrolls using the Stampers Anonymous "Regal Flourish" stamp and "Vintage Photo" Distress Oxide Ink.

Finally I added a Stampers Anonymous "Clipping Sticker' for a sentiment and highlighted areas with a white Posca Pen.

Face Masks by Morfil Glas

Since lockdown, my neighbour Sue has been busy sewing face masks using a gorgeous selection of fabrics under the name of "Morfil Glas".  Although I had been following Sue on Instagram, I had no idea she lived just round the corner from my house until recently!

This is me, (excuse the lockdown greying hair) wearing one of the masks I purchased from Sue.  She only charges £6 plus p+p, for a quality mask.  You can insert a tissue to give extra protection and they're washable too.

Lavinia Stamps Indra and Honeysuckle Card

I had an urge to play with some Lavinia Stamps, so with no agenda I made this card using two of the fewer used Lavinia Stamps I have.

I started by creating the base using two shades of Distress Oxide Inks - Picked Raspberry and Squeezed Lemonade covering the surface.  Using a wet fan brush from approximately 10" above the surface I gently tapped the brush to create splatters.  I left them on the surface for about a minute then blotted with a piece of kitchen roll.  This created the bleached droplet effect.

Using the Lavinia Stamps "Honeysuckle" stamp, I multi stamped the image over the prepared background, using a Wow! Clear Embossing Pad.  I then covered the stamped images with Papermania "Enchanted Gold" embossing Powder and heat set.  This resulted in a very subtle stamped image with a little bit of glitter which adds a lovely quiet sparkle to the background.

On a separate piece of card, I prepared a background using three shades of Distress Oxide Inks:  Picked Rasberry, Abandoned Coral and Wild Honey. I stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Indra" moth/butterfly in Versafine Clair "Charming Pink" ink on this new background.  I then coated the stamped image with clear embossing powder and heat set.  

I then cut the image using the Brother Scan n Cut SDX1200.  The machine scuffed a little section of the image, I think it was user error as the inked background may not have been totally dry, but I was able to rescue the situation buy cutting off the fine antenna.

To rectify the problem.  I stamped the "Indra" image over the heat embossed honeysuckle and adhered the cut image on the top.

I have deliberately left this card sentiment free, so that I can use it for a suitable occasion at a later date.

Hero Arts "High Heels" Birthday Card

A quick card I made using a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background.  

I stamped the shoe on white card, the stamp is part of the Hero Arts "High Heels" stamp set, using Versafine Clair "Charming Pink" ink.  I then cut the shape using my Brother Scan n Cut SDX1200 machine.
