Lavinia Stamps "Fairy Thistles" Sympathy Card

I sadly heard of the passing of one of our parents of our friend, so made a sympathy card to pop in the post first thing tomorrow.

I started this card by stamping the Lavinia Stamps "Fairy Thistle" in Versafine Clair "Monarch" purple ink.  I then coated the stamping in Wow! Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.

Over the top of the card, I lay the Lavinia "Feather Leaf" stencil, applying "Shadow Grey" Archival Ink through the stencil, fading the ink out across the card.

I stamped the sentiment, again using "Monarch" purple ink.  The sentiment is part of a Stampin' Up cling set called "Heal Your Heart".

Finally, I coloured the thistles using Derwent Inktense pencils applied with a brush and added touches of silver and purple Uniball Signo pens.

Lavinia Stamps "Fairy Thistles" wax resist tag

Today I have been playing with my Lavinia Stamps. 

I used a Brusho "Wax Stick" to create the wax resist grid in the background and then swooshing the tag through various colours of Distress Oxide inks left on my glass mat after assorted projects.

I stamped the Lavinia "Fairy Thistles" and "Single Fairy Thistles" in Versafine Clair "Purple Delight" ink and coloured them with assorted Posca Pens and Signo glitter pens.  I stamped the "Words of spring" verse in Versafine Clair "Charming Pink" ink.

I've continued my play with Lavinia Stamps making this quick card.

I coated a 4' x 4" piece of card with pale blue "Tumbled Glass" Distress Oxide Ink.  I then lay the new Lavinia Stamps "Pods" stencil over the top and used "Peacock Feathers" Distress Oxide Ink through the stencil to create the background pattern.

I decided to use a stamp I have had for a long time but not used for some time, the Lavinia Stamps "Fairy Thistle", which I stamped in Versafine Clair  Medieval Blue ink.  I used a Lawn Fawn "Hello" sentiment and stamped it in the same ink.

I coloured the Fairy Thistle pods using two shades of Distress Oxide Inks:  Peackcock Feathers and Wilted Violet.  I then gave them a little sparkle, using a silver glitter Signo Pen.  Unfortunately the sparkle doesn't really show up in the photo, but it is there.
