Funky Fossil Designs "In the neighbourhood" new home card

For the last couple of years, our friends, who were once our neighbours and are greatly missed, have been building their own house.  This week they eventually moved in, so this is a card I have made for them.

In the background I used "Shadow Grey" Ranger Archival Ink through the Funky Fossil Designs "In the neighbourhood stencil.'

Then using the Funky Fossil Designs "Honeycomb Heart Die Set" I cut one layer in green, with the leaves.  I then used the same die in white, cut off the leaves and glued over the green heart, leaving the leaves exposed.

Using the same die set, I then cut the inner honeycomb area in yellow card and glued into position over the white area.  I then glued the whole heart into position overthe stencilled background. Mounted the card on to grey card and then on to a white card blank.

I then die cut the house and the word home in grey card, using another Funky Fossil die set.  Sorry, I don't know what it's called and I can't locate it on their web site either, so likely retired and glued into position.

I returned to the "Honeycomb Heart die set" and die cut a couple of bees in yellow card.  I used a black Posca Pen to add stripes and a gold shimmer gel pen on the wing area, then glued into position on the card using a wet glue.

Funky Fossil Designs "In the neighbourhood" new home card

Here's a "new home" card I made using Funky Fossil Designs products.

I started by applying two lines of low tack masking tape across a piece of white card, about two inches apart.

Within the lines of masking tape I applied three shades of Archival Inks using blending brushes.  I used the Pink Peony, Orange Blossom and Cornflower Blue shades covering the rectangle.

Over the top of the blended ink area, I lay the Funky Fossil "In the neighbourhood" stencil, securing with a tab of low tack tape and used "Cornflower Blue" Ranger Archival Ink with a blending brush through the stencil.

I removed the stencil and the masking tape, then added little white dots of gel pen to the sky above the houses, just to break up the colour a little.

Finally, I added the "Home - is the nicest word there is" sentiment, which is part of the Funky Fossil "Home" stamp set, stamped in Versfine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.  I then stuck the piece to the front of a card blank.

Funky Fossil "In the neighbourhood stencil" new home card

We sadly said goodbye to our neighbours, who as the tv tune suggest "become good friends" and they did.  They're staying local, so we will still see them, but I will miss seeing them daily, especially their two gorgeous girls, who we have been lucky enough to know since they were born (they're 11 and 9 now).

Fortunately, we now have lovely new/old neighbours moving in to their house.  I don't mean "old' as in age, but a couple who used to live three doors up from us.  They moved to a nearby town, but missed the village and have returned and have moved in to the bungalow opposite our house.

I made this card for the incoming new/old neighbours.  I've masked off the edges of the card, then used two shades of Archival Inks (Pink Peony and Violet) through the Funky Fossil "In the neighbourhood stencil".

I removed the masking tape and then used Versafine Clair "Purple Delight" ink to stamp the word "home" the sentiment and the house shape with a heart, which are part of the Funky Fossil Designs "A7 Home Stamp Set".
