Day 9 "24 Days of tags 2022" with Karen Telfer

Today is Day 9 of the "24 Days of tags 2022" challenge with Karen Telfer. The prompt is "sunshine", a reminder that not everywhere in the world has the cold wintery spell the UK is experiencing at the moment.

I used three products from Funky Fossil Designs to create this tag. I used four shades of Archival Inks to create the sunshine background:  Chrome Yellow, Buttercup, Sunflower and Tiger Lily through the Funky Fossil "Checkered Sun Stencil.

For the little bird, I used the Funky Fossil stamp set called "Christmas Characters", stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink and coloured with Derwent Inktense pencils.

The sentiment, also stamped in Nocturne black ink is part of the Funky Fossil "It's Christmas" stamp set.

Finally, I added splatters using an orange and white Posca Pens and edged the tag in Versafine Clair "Summertime" orange ink.

Snowy Sky Background Tutorial using Funky Fossil "Christmas Characters" stamp set

I have a couple of friends who are in thier early stages of card making.  In these troubled times, it's not so easy to share techniques with them, so I am making a few little videos that they can try at their leisure when the mood takes them.

I know from experience, that sometimes with long video tutorials you can switch off.  For that reason, I have split the technique into two separate videos.  The first is how to create the backgound, shading Distress Oxide Inks, splattering water and paint to create a snowy/stary scene.  Here is the link for that video.

This is a list of the items needed for the background video

A small jar of water

In the second video, I concentrate on creating an image using the background in the earlier video.  I have used the Funky Fossil "Christmas Characters" stamp set, stamped in Versafnie Clair "Nocturne" ink and coloured with Posca Pens and Distress Oxide inks.
Here's the link for the second video.

Here's a list of the items needed for decorating the snowman tag:

Funky Fossil "Christmas Characters" new stamp preview

Today I can share with you another card using the new Funky Fossil Designs "Christmas Characters" stamp set, which will be available to purchase from this Saturday 1st August.

For this card, I have used a sheet of paper from the new Funky Fossil 6"x6" paper pack called "Let it snow".  I have used two Funky Fossil stencils:  "Snow Flurry" for the snowflakes with a whisper white ink and "Festive Words" with Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

I multi stamped the fairy from the new "Christmas Characters" stamp set then cut them out using my Brother Scan n Cut SDX1200 machine.  I then painted them with "Spun Sugar" Distress Oxide ink and adhered them onto the background, as if they are holding hands, which created a snowflake shape.

Finally, I stamped the snowflakes and the "Believe" sentiment (which is part of the new Festive Phrases stamp set) in "Warm Breeze" Versafine Clair ink.
