Week 19 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2019

The prompt for Week 19 is "Sketch".  You will need to follow the sketch below.  It doesn't have to be an exact replica but is more of a guide to the position of your elements.

I started my tag by inking some polka dot patterned paper in various shades to give it a more aged look.

I cut two strips of co-ordinating patterned paper, in different patterns and widths, I cut a "V" shape out of one end of each to make it more like a banner.

I used two sets of Stampin' Up stamps on this tag, "The Open Sea" and "High Tide", stamped in Versafine Clair "Twilight" shade of ink.

First I stamped the birds and the sea to make a small picture and mounted it on a darker card.  Then I stamped the birds, compass and globe.  Then it was just a matter of positioning the elements.

Week 11 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2018

The prompt for week 11 is "Nautical".

I've made two tags for this week, which are quite different but still appropriate for the prompt.

The first tag has a blended background of Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks.  The two sentiments are both from the same set by Hobby Art Ltd, called "By The Sea" CS038D.  The central seascape is a Rubbadubbadoo stamp from their set called "Mostly For Men" SNSDM-MM.

The second tag has a striped patterned paper background with a net look stamped across the surface using a Creative Expressions stamp called "Chicken Wire".  I used a die cut to replicate the weeds growing up the tag.  The stamped anchor is from a Stampin' Up set called "The Open Sea", I then inked the edges of the tag.

A Grunge Travel Theme Tag

I've previously mentioned that I don't really do grunge, I prefer a cleaner look in general.  Today I thought I would challenge myself by going all out grunge.

The tag started off with a shaded yellow/orange Panpastel background.  Using the Stampin' Up "Traveler" stamp set I stamped the suitcase.  The image of the world in the bottom left hand corner and the compass top left is from the Stampin' Up set called "The Open Sea".  Before cleaning the stamps off, I stamped the images in Post-it notes and then cut round the images to use them as masks over the ones on the tag.

I then used Stampin' Up "Gorgeous Grunge" stamp set to make the foxing and splash marks. I then used a script stamp to fill in the gaps across the tag.  In the bottom right hand corner I used a Stampers Anonymous set called "The Journey" for the text starting "Time is a companion".

Using a Stampin' Up stamp set called "That's The Ticket", I stamped, two tickets on cardstock and cut them out.  The "Bonjour" was from a tiny clear stamp set which I think may have come with a magazine.  I used a Stampin' up die from their "Banners Framelits" set to cut the arrow for the bonjour.

I then inked areas of the tag lightly in red and in some areas darker in black.  Throughout this tag, I have used Distress Inks, StazOn ink, Versafine and Memento inks.

I think I have completed the challenge I set to myself to go all out grunge with this tag. (Doesn't mean I like it though).

Good Luck On Your Travels Card

Today I made a good luck card for somebody going on their travels.  I used two Stampin' Up products.  The Sunburst Thinlit die and a stamp from "The Open Sea" stamp set.

I also baked as we're visiting relatives tomorrow.  One cake will be lemon and one jam with butter cream and I'm undecided on the third.  I also made a batch of flapjacks too, so quite a productive afternoon.
