Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge - Day 14

Today is Day 14 of Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay challenge, the final day of Week 2 with a prompt of "Stencils".

For the background design, on a white card, I have used three shades of Distress Oxide:  Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron and Mermaid Lagoon. I blended the colours to that they were lighter on the top right, blending to darker in the bottom left hand corner. Over the top of that I lay the Funky Fossil Designs "Cellular Stencil" and applied "Night Sky" Ranger Archival ink through the stencil.

For the eye, I used Ranger "Jet Black" Ranger Archival Ink through the Visible Image "Eye Contact Stencil" over the top of the patterned background.

The actual eye area didn't show up too much, so I decided to sort that by using the same ink and stencil on a piece of white card and fussy cutting it. I then repeated the process for the central iris area, painting it with two shades of Distress Oxide Inks, using "Tumbled Glass" and "Salvaged Patina".  I then added some yellow Posca Pen to the eye too.

Finally, I mounted the card on to a piece of black paper and then on to a piece of white card, adding a Lavinia Stamps word sticker (from their Sentiment Sticker set 6), saying "Look Up" to the bottom right hand corner.

Girls Birthday Card

I fancied making a bright card, suitable for a young lady who will be celebrating her birthday today.

I decided to stamp flowers from the Hobby Arts Ltd, stamp set called "Abstract Flowers", stamped in a raspberry shade of Adirondack Ink.  I then coloured the flowers with a yellow Promarker.

I stamped the Apple Blossom Banner sentiment in the same Raspberry coloured ink and die cut it using the Apple Blossom die.

Dachshund Birthday Card

Our little smiler, Jacob, our Grandson, will be two years old in a couple of weeks.  I'd had an idea in my head of the card I wanted to make and this evening I decided to put it together.

I'd purchased a set of Hobby Art stamps (called Dogz CS130D) with assorted breeds of dogs on.  As a child, I grew up with a Dachshund so it kind of seemed natural to go with that for this card.

I stamped the dog, coloured it with Promarkers and then cut it out.  I cut a strip of grey cardstock and stuck it to the base of the card to mimic a pavement. I then used a stamp (I think it may be from a Pennyblack set) for the grass.

On checking my stamps, I found the buzzy bee, it's one I've had for a while, so I don't recall where it came from, but I stamped it on the top right of the card, again colouring with Promarkers.

For the balloon, I used a Stampin' Up set called "Party This Way" and stamped in Ranger Adirondack Bright, Citrus.  Using a Tim Holtz Distress Ink and a wet paintbrush I painted the streaky sky.  I added a couple of clouds and a string to the balloon.

Using a Papertrey Ink stamp from their "Stylish Sentiments" set I stamped the "Happy Birthday".  Finally, I stuck the coloured image of the dog and added a googly eye.

Bright & Beautiful Christmas Cards (Stampin' Up)

This morning I have been playing with a Stampin' Up double stamp set called "Bright & Beautiful"

On the black background card, I have heat embossed the stamped design using a Versamark pad and Papermania "Enchanted Gold" embossing powder.  The sentiment on this card is by Woodware.

On the white and pink card, I have stamped using a Ranger Adirondack Brights ink, in a shade of "Raspberry".  Again, the sentiment is by Woodware.

On the white and green card, I have stamped using a StazOn ink in the shade called "Emerald City".  The sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink set called "Winter Hills".

Birthday Cake Card (Stampin' Up "Big Day")

I've gone for something a bit different to my usual style with this birthday card.

I've used the Stampin' Up set called "(Saleabration) Big Day" for the sentiments and the cake shape.  The little pink flowers were stamped using a tiny stamp from a Papertrey Ink set called "Love Lives Here" which was stamped in a "Ranger Adirondack Raspberry" shade of ink.
