Day 22 of the Karen Telfer "24 Days of Tags 2022"

 

It's Day 22 of the Karen Telfer "24 Days of Tags". This tag is about dots. You can see Karen's demo for her tag here.

I've used three shades of Distress Oxide Inks: "Picked Raspberry", "Peacock Feathers" and "Wilted Violet" through one of the holes in the Funky Fossil Designs "Bokeh Builder Stencil".

I used a mix of acrylic paints, glitter gel pen and Posca Pen to add dotty details to the coloured circles and to the edge of the tag, edging with Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink.

In the middle of the central purple circle, I added a Prima Marketing sticky backed pebble with a dot surround that I found in my craft stash.

Prima Water Colour Confections - Tropical Pan Set

I realised a couple of weeks ago, that although I have a lot of different crafting materials, including water colour pencils, that I didn't actually have any water colour paints.  Having looked around and thought about the colours that I like to use, I decided to treat myself and purchase the Prima Water Colour Confections Pan Set in the "Tropical" colour scheme.

Each little square of colour comes celo wrapped and has a paper label detailing the number and colour name of each pan.

There is a small metal clip at the top of each pan to keep them into position too.

Also in the tin is a card with a grid and numbers within.  I think they missed a trick by not printing the name of the pan against the number, so I've jotted it down, that way if I need to replace any in the future, I know the name I need to purchase.

I spritzed the pans with water and brushed some into the boxes to remind me of the shades and strength of colour at their darkest.

I'm really looking forward to having a play with these later in the week.  I'll keep you posted with how I get on with them.  Sam x

Vintage Floral Tag

While waiting for a TV programme last night, I made this vintage style tag.

I started with a lightly distressed inked background and then used a script stamp (from Crafter's Companion) in a brown shade.  I then used a stamp from the "Gorgeous Grunge" Stampin' Up set for the red splotchy/foxing marks in a rusty red shad.

I die cut the leaves (Sizzix "Back To Nature dies) and added a Prima flower.  A ribbon finishes the tag.

Floral Birdcage Tag

I stamped the birdcage in black, masking it when I used a green Stazon ink for the background (Prima stamp). I used a purple Promarker for the background colour.
